How to Submit a Claim

We believe that using your benefits should feel like a benefit – not a hassle – so we’ve made it quick and easy to submit your claims. 

Claim submission your way. Three easy options.

Skip the mailing time and postage costs with online (and mobile!) claiming.

<p>If you are covered for health or dental benefits under another benefits plan, you can coordinate with your GSC benefits to receive up to 100% coverage by accessing both plans. See below.</p>

<h2>Whose claim do you want to coordinate?</h2>
<h3>Your claims</h3>
<ul>
<li>First, submit claims to GSC (this is your primary benefits plan).</li>
<li>Next, submit the unpaid portion to your spouse&rsquo;s benefits plan (this is your secondary plan).</li>
</ul>
<h3>Your spouse&rsquo;s claims</h3>
<ul>
<li>First, your spouse must submit claims to their benefits plan (this is their primary benefits plan).</li>
<li>Next, submit the unpaid portion to your GSC plan (this is their secondary plan).</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Your children's claims</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>First, submit your children&rsquo;s claims to the plan of the parent whose birthday falls earliest in the year, regardless of the year of birth.</li>
<li>Next, submit the unpaid portion to the other parent&rsquo;s plan.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Divorced with joint custody</h3>
<ul>
<li>First, submit your children&rsquo;s claims to the benefits plan of the parent whose birthday falls earliest in the year, regardless of the year of birth.</li>
<li>Next, submit the unpaid portion to the other parent&rsquo;s plan.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Re-married without joint custody</h3>
<p>Submit claims in the following sequence:</p>
<ul>
<li>Submit to the benefits plan of the parent who has custody of the child.</li>
<li>Submit any unpaid portion to the plan of the spouse of the parent who has custody of the child.</li>
<li>Submit any unpaid portion to the plan of the parent who does not have custody of the child.</li>
</ul>
<p>Submit any unpaid portion to the plan of the spouse of the parent who does not have custody of the child.</p>
<h3>GSC individual health and dental plans - coordination of benefits (COB)</h3>
<p>If you have coverage under more than one benefit plan, here are some tips to help you determine where you should first submit your claims in order to maximize your benefits.</p>
<ul>
<li>If you have group or employee health and dental benefits, please submit your claims through your group/employee benefits plan first. Your GSC individual plan will be your secondary plan &ndash; so submit the unpaid balance through your GSC individual plan.</li>
<li>If you have coverage under more than one individual health and dental plan, please verify if the other plan permits COB.</li>
<li>If the other plan also permits COB, you may submit your claim to either plan first.</li>
<li>If the other plan does not permit COB, you must submit your claim to that plan first. Your GSC individual plan will be your secondary plan &ndash; so submit the unpaid balance through your GSC individual plan.</li>
</ul>

<p>For paper dental and drug claims, you can scan or take a photo of the claim form and receipts (and any other supporting documentation) and upload your documents via GSC everywhere.</p>
