GenXys Pharmacogenetic

Experiencing side-effects or not getting the outcomes you were hoping for from your medications? Learn how the pharmacogenetic testing and counselling program can help you get on the right medication.

<h3>About the pharmacogenetic program</h3>
The Pharmacogenetic Testing and Counselling program offers access to the GenXys TreatGxplus&nbsp;product, an all-in-one product that includes the myPGx pharmacogenetic test for patients, comprehensive pharmacogenetic reports, and a subscription for your health care provider to TreatGx*, a medication decision-support software that provides personalized and optimized medication options.
With support from TreatGx, your health care provider will receive personalized and optimized medication options for you based on your pharmacogenetic insights, current drug regimen, and other health information. You and your health care provider will then review your options in a shared decision-making process.
*The TreatGx medication decision-support software, available in English today, will also be available in French in the near future. All other components of the program are available with bilingual support.

<h3>Who qualifies for the pharmacogenetic testing and counselling program?</h3>
The program is available to eligible GSC plan members and their dependents (spouses and children) who meet the following criteria:
<ul>
<li>Have GSC extended health services benefit coverage; and</li>
<li>Are currently being treated for moderate to severe major depressive disorder and/or anxiety disorder (generalized or social); and</li>
<li>Are currently experiencing a lack of response and/or side-effects to their current drug therapy (of adequate dose and duration).</li>
</ul>

<h3>The benefits of pharmacogenetic testing</h3>
TreatGxplus includes&hellip;
<ul>
<li>A simple cheek-swab test delivered right to your door.</li>
<li>A collaborative decision-making process with your primary care provider that allows you to get on the right medication faster and reduces the likelihood of side-effects.</li>
<li>One test that will benefit you for a lifetime. Your primary care provider will be able to use the pharmacogenetic insights and personalized medication options gained via TreatGxplus now and in the future.</li>
</ul>
And best of all, when approved, the cost of the pharmacogenetic testing from GenXys is eligible for coverage under your GSC plan (subject to any applicable plan maximums).

<h3>How to get started with pharmacogenetic testing&hellip;</h3>
Ask your community pharmacist or prescriber about pharmacogenetic testing with the GenXys TreatGxplus&nbsp;product. They can apply to GSC for access to the program on your behalf, and, once you receive your approval letter and access code, all you have to do is register with GenXys to receive the test kit. If your pharmacist or prescriber is unaware of the program, invite them to contact GSC. Or you can provide them with a copy of the special authorization request form by clicking&nbsp;<a href="https://providerconnect.ca/wwwroot/ProviderForms/DrugAuthorization/autho-drug%20special-pharmacogenetic%20testing-100-en.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a>&nbsp;to print or email it.&nbsp;
